Senior Process Safety Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Independently or with minimum supervision to carry out Design Safety Philosophy, Specifications for fire protection systems (active & passive), data sheet for firefighting systems.

Develop UFDs, PIDS for the fire protection systems and carry out Fire water/foam demand calculations (incl. Gas suppression system), and Firewater system Hydraulic check analysis.

Prepare Hazardous / H2S Area Classification Source release schedule and Drawings, Safety & Fire Fighting equipment layout and Escape route drawing, Firefighting Nozzle coverage shadow drawings etc.

Carry out independent or with minimum support for design of Active and Passive Fire Protection systems (includes preparation of requisition, datasheets, PFP schedule etc)

Support to Packages for Safety & Fire Fighting Equipment and review/ approve firefighting vendor documents.

Under broad direction, guide junior engineers and designers on FEED / Detailed Engineering projects.

Participate in Process Hazard reviews and analysis including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies when needed and support in Actions close-out.

Provide inputs include Human factors engineering for projects, as required.

Interface/ co-ordinate with other engineering disciplines for resolving technical matters related to safety aspects.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university

Person shall have 6-12 years HSE Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry, in Process Safety/ Technical Safety

Involved in design projects for Offshore (FPSO/Platforms) and Onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminal etc)

Possess good knowledge of Oil & Gas facilities, local and international regulatory codes & standards and the ability to influence designs to achieve optimal HSE outcomes.

Familiar with plot plan reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/ verification and other safety reviews (e.g.SIMOPS, ALARP) is preferred

Possess good knowledge Regulatory codes & standards (DNVGL class/ ABS) and the ability to influence designs to achieve optimal HSE outcomes.

Good working knowledge in PIPENET Vision, Flaresim and other consequence modelling software such as DNV PHAST etc. preferred

Person shall be a team player with leadership potential and shall have pro-active inter-discipline communication.
