Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Jr. Electrical Engineer to join our team in Suffolk, VA.

The Jr. Electrical Engineer is to support the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I), RF Communications Branch (RFCB). This role will support the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Radiation Hazard (RADHAZ) program. This program provides support across Coast Guard (CG) short- and long-range communication systems (e.g. Medium Frequency (MF), High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF)) and Satellite (Military & Commercial).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Junior Electrical Engineer Duties shall include, but are not limited to assisting the Radio Frequency Communications Branch and Electrical Engineers with the following tasks:
 

  • Conducting testing onboard Coast Guard Cutters and shore sites to ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is maintained between systems
  • Analyze plans and programs, integrate with external agencies accomplishing equipment acquisition, and participate in Test and Evaluation and strategic planning activities
  • Develop capabilities for systems, investigate available technologies, and define alternative concepts to meet user needs
  • Develop test plans that define the type of testing (e.g. functional, performance, usability) and the test level (e.g. unit, integration, field testing) to be performed for EMI/RADHAZ analysis and testing
  • Liaison with DOD EMI/RADHAZ components (i.e. NAVSEA Dahlgren) to conduct topside analysis on cutters as required
  • Conducting reviews of Engineering Changes to assess any potential EMI/RADHAZ impacts to proposed changes
  • Deploying to sites as required to resolve reported EMI/RADHAZ issues in the field
  • Contribute to technical working groups and support equipment requirements review meetings

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical Engineering  (ABET Accredited)

0-2 years experience

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to receive and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, executive/senior leadership, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This position requires 25% travel
