ManTech is looking for a self-motivated and customer-oriented Cyber Security Vulnerability Analyst in support of a secure Windows/Linux based Information System. The analyst will assist with developing mitigation and/or remediation recommendations for discovered vulnerabilities. In addition, they will identify potential network and system vulnerabilities and misconfigurations and evaluate identified targeted environments for compliance with applicable IT Security Policies (i.e. Secure Technical Implementation Guides)

Position Responsibilities 

  • Analyze/review change requests (CONOPS, risk assessments, scans, etc)

  • Participate in daily/weekly calls for technical exchanges  

  • Work with Senior Security Engineers and Architects to review security designs and requirements and report the results to the Program Office

  • Conduct system audits and review and report abnormal findings

  • Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, analyzing the findings

  • Review endpoints for STIG compliance

  • Attend weekly Configuration Control Board meetings

  • Review Network configurations and ensure baselines meets DOD standards

  • Managed Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) and ensure all findings are mitigated

  • Conduct Risk Management Framework (RMF) validation and assessment and report the results to the ISSO 

  • Conduct reviews of system design and make recommendations for improvement

  • Write reports on system finding and vulnerabilities 

  • Brief analysis, results and recommendations to executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Monitor core capabilities to include but not limited to Splunk and HBSS for near-real time alerting of suspicious and/or anomalous activity

  • Work as a part of a team implementing a Contingency Plan

Position Requirements

Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Mathematics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience to include the following:

  • Understand Cloud Infrastructure, Networks, Linux and Microsoft Operating Systems

  • Understand Vulnerability Analysis and log monitoring processes

  • Have knowledge of Windows file systems, registry, and other operating system command line tools.

  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to Executive Leadership

  • Have the ability to use assessment tools and other security tools found in large network environments; along with the ability to work with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, including Splunk.

  • Be capable of working independently without supervision

  • Familiarity with Microsoft, Cisco and other security vendor technologies 

  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Hypervisors

DoD 8570 or 8140 certification required 

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

Must be open to 10% annual travel

Security Requirements:

US Citizenship required 

Security Clearance Level: Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret
