In support of our commitment to deliver projects with collaboration, discipline and professionalism, we are seeking the services of a motivated Estimating professional with conceptual and delivery experience to share our journey and realise their own career progression.

What will you be involved with?

Working within a collaborative planning and delivery team with a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, the role is more than just estimating. You will be providing estimating, benchmarking and construction analytics services for a major capital delivery program ~$250M pa across all stages of the project lifecycle including construction. You will join an Estimating Team focused on minimising risk, maximising benefits in providing cost and schedule input to overall program delivery.

There is a pipeline of construction projects underway spanning several years, this is a great opportunity for a well-rounded mid-level estimator to progress their career.

The core responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of multi-discipline cost estimates for projects at various stages and values ($500K to 10M)
  • Provide constructability support and advice to design teams and project managers
  • Administer the estimating guidelines through early planning of estimates
  • Develop cost estimates through either first principles, and/or unit rate techniques
  • Conduct analysis of previous estimates and tender submissions.
  • Develop or assist others to develop project implementation plans including project delivery methodology and construction schedules
  • Analyse previous project cost and time data as well as contribute to maintaining benchmarking databases
  • Conduct estimate presentations and reviews and author detailed Basis of Estimate reports

Prerequisites :

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Associate Diploma minimum, equivalent field experience or time in role).
  • Water and Wastewater experience desirable.
  • Out of the box thinking to drive efficiencies in construction.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role within a construction organisation or engineering consultant.
  • A well-developed understanding of construction techniques with water and wastewater experience highly regarded.
  • A solid working knowledge of project development and execution process.
  • A developing level of competence in the planning and programming of works and a disciplined approach to your work.
  • Competent in Excel spread sheeting (Basic formulae and Macros desirable).
  • Ability to work within a team sharing and seeking input from others.
  • Experience in standard estimating and cost reporting structures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound client facing skills with the ability to maintain and develop client relationships.
