The Sellafield nuclear site is home to one of the most complex portfolios of construction and infrastructure projects in the world, stretching over many decades.

The new approach will support the transformation from nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation.

The partnership is made up of four lots and Sellafield Ltd, as 5th Partner, to help deliver the site's decommissioning programme:

  • Kellogg Brown and Root Ltd (KBR) - integration partner
  • Jacobs - design and engineering partner
  • Morgan Sindall Infrastructure - civils construction management partner
  • Doosan Babcock Ltd - process construction management partner

Sellafield Ltd will work collaboratively with the four lot partners, to deliver major projects in support of the site’s 100-year decommissioning programme.

The new approach is set up to support faster, more effective project delivery, stability in design and construction supply chains, greater workforce flexibility, and local economic benefit.

We have one site in Whitehaven that is on the beautiful Cumbrian coast with easy access to the fells and Lake District. Our other base is Warrington, vibrant and ideally located between Liverpool and Manchester.

Now is your chance to be part of this vital work, a once-in-a-career opportunity, in the role of Package Manager – CSA

The role will require the successful candidate to deliver the Crane Package from Design, manufacture, delivery, commissioning, and site acceptance. The specifics of the role are as follows:

  • Comply with all relevant environment, health, quality, security, and safety procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Comply with all relevant PPP and Sellafield procedures.
  • Coordinate between engineering and procurement for successful purchase order.
  • Chair Technical Bid Clarification meetings with Vendor
  • Represent the project at Vendor design and fabrication progress meeting
  • Perform expediating to reduce risk of late delivery at site
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality Management to ensure the integrity of the design, no fabrication faults and reduce risk of damage during transportation.
  • Identify any risks associated with the crane and facilitate risk mitigation meetings and track those agreed actions.
  • Over see our document management team regarding crane Vendor documentation and be the point of contact regarding any issues to resolve
  • Support the Construction Manager with, Constructability, Installation sequencing and Construction Workpacks.
  • Support Commissioning Manager as appropriate to ensure successful commissioning of Cranes.
  • Report progress relating to the crane Design, Fabrication, and delivery to site to the Planning Team
  • Support the Project Controls to complete any crane related change management as required.
  • Provide progress updates for the project reports from Project Management as required.
  • Support any audits as appropriate.
  • Support the PPP vision and align as appropriate, including attendance of townhalls and related meetings to ensure aligned with the way we work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant management discipline or relevant professional accreditation (MCIPS or equivalent).
  • Substantial experience in coordinating delivery of vendor packages.
  • Sellafield SQEP or capable of being SQEP as the PM for the NEC3/4 contract
