Job Location: Ft. Meade, MD

Job Responsibilities:
Trace Systems is actively recruiting for an Automation Engineer (Applications) to join our team based in Ft. Meade, MD.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Automation experience
Understand, decompose and implement test plan, automation, and validation procedures based on stated product features and skillsets
Help engineer solutions that are technically sound and within the constructs of the DOD environment
Be part of an engineering team building DOD systems using advanced ESXi networking functionalities such as virtual or distributed switches, network emulation devices, network overlay technologies, and NIC offload capabilities
Support complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within the engineering team
Collaborate with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
Advise senior government staff on industry best practices and provide policy recommendations to implement those practices
Work in a collaborated environment to achieve original and anticipated features and functionality of programs to be developed
Take part in product enhancement, feature design and requirements discussions (i.e., represent the voice of the customer)
Work with Lead Architect, internal and external teams to scope features and prioritize roadmap
Work with the multiple technology teams to provide expertise in automation using configuration management tools such as Ansible.
Automate deployments, maintenance, and common tasks where applicable.
Resourcefulness, creativity, and troubleshooting skills a must
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a fifteen years direct experience in the last 20 years.
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret/SSBI clearance.

Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, Python, etc.
Knowledge of coding the Ansible or vRO API to interface with external tools and services.
Technical lead for large scale projects involving Windows technologies
Standup and configuration of test environments/sandboxes
Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows.
Knowledge of VMWare technologies such as vRO, vRA, vSphere, and ESX.
Hands-on development of tests and testing suites
Manage test environments and setup/maintain test datasets
Configure and maintain test management suites using TestRail or similar
Evaluate where and how to increase/improve automation test coverage
Cloud and hybrid cloud deployments
Experience with Microsoft application deployment automation (i.e. Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange, Lync)
Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems,
Network Engineering, Math). With at least 18 years of general experience of which 15 years is directly related
experience, an advanced degree is not required.
