Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer

Overview:

Development and optimization of firmware for FPGAs, running advanced algorithms in firmware for real-time data processing.

Design and Optimization of processing and firmware architectures.

Write and optimize HDL code for FPGAs.

Develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Firmware design will use the following languages: Verilog, Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL), Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) using System Verilog for Verification.

Firmware will utilize Gigabit High-Speed Serial Interfaces like Serial RapidIO (SRIO), Aurora, or Peripheral Component Interconnect express (PCIe).

Firmware will be developed using the following software tool suites: Xilinx ISE, Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi.

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Requirements:

Degree in engineering, computer science: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD

10 - 20 years of task related experience

Experience writing software for real-time digital signals processing for aerospace and defense applications
