Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals in El Segundo, CA who assist the U.S. Air Force and Space Force in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW) and space-based environmental monitoring (SBEM). These systems alert senior military officials when missile launches occur around the globe, as well as enable global naval vessel and troop movements by providing mission-critical weather data to ensure safe passage.

The KBR Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has a need for a Systems Engineer to act as our Agile Development Lead to provide engineering and technical advisory and support to the Space and Missile Systems Center in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a Technical Lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members
  • Provide technical and acquisition support to Government and contractor milestone reviews to assess progress, issues, and meeting mission requirements traceability.
  • Drive on-time delivery of software-based solutions in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Determine root cause for complex software issues and developing practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
  • Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages, evaluating and making recommendations, as necessary.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Migrate applications to Cloud Computing Environments (CCE)
  • Collaborate with other Agile Team members and engineers both internal and external for software development activities and general integration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise and experience in technical programs, technical program management, and agile software development.
  • Experience implementing agile tenets and principles, leading teams for space/ground.
  • Experience developing software using an Agile development environment, using various DevSecOps tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket (Git), Jenkins, and Docker
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in acquisition and program management within the Air Force community
  • Space control mission area experience and extensive experience in acquisitions and contract planning

Security Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
