KBR is seeking a highly motivated Mission Assurance Specialist to support the NRO’s SIGINT Directorate. The successful candidate is familiar with mission assurance satellite private and government industry standards, is familiar with industrial base control processes, understands the failure review process, and can guide parts / material / process working groups. The SIGINT Directorate is looking to address future intelligence collection challenges with innovative solutions. The successful candidate understands the mission needs to overcome development and operations limitations of current systems and can guide revolutionary change in how the NRO conducts its mission.


  • Support management of the mission assurance processes within the SIGINT Directorate portfolio.
  • Develop, implement, execute, and train others on tools, techniques, and processes to manage internal and external mission assurance within and external to the NRO SIGINT directorate.
  • Institute rigorous control processes to document baseline configurations, monitor industry failure and corrective action findings, and manage processes to monitor the industrial base capabilities and changes.
  • Coordinate review schedules and timelines with Government customer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have technical and analytic capabilities in systems engineering focused on mission assurance.
  • BS degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with space systems acquisition and / or sustainment.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline or systems engineering with focus on mission assurance.
  • 5-10 years’ experience with space systems acquisition and /or sustainment.
  • Understanding of acquisition and operations technology best practices.
  • Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development, test development / execution, and tracking requirement verification.
  • Specific knowledge of the NRO space and ground systems and processes.
