KBR is seeking a highly motivated Satellite Space and Ground Systems Engineer to support the NRO’s SIGINT Directorate. The SIGINT directorate is looking to address future intelligence collection challenges with innovative solutions. The successful candidate understands the mission needs to overcome development and operations limitations of current systems and can guide revolutionary change in how the NRO conducts its mission.


  • Work with customer, industry and NRO peers to lead systems engineering of new systems and capabilities.
  • Guide engineering trades, requirements development, CONOPs, risk and opportunity management, verification and validation, interface development
  • Potential to leverage Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) framework to guide program life cycle development
  • Understand and contribute to acquisition management and technical approach development to guide next generation systems to provide resilient space and ground programs for SIGINT space and ground systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have technical and analytic capabilities in systems engineering. Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development, test development/execution, and assessing requirement verification.
  • BS degree in STEM.
  • 7-10 years’ experience with space systems acquisition and / or sustainment.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline or systems engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience with space systems acquisition and /or sustainment.
  • Understanding of acquisition and operations technology best practices.
  • Specific knowledge of the NRO space and ground systems and processes.
