Business Intelligence Manager

Role : Business Intelligence Manager

Location : Leatherhead with travel to Portsmouth

The Role

The BI Manager will bring best practice data management to the Government Solutions business. They will use proven data warehousing and dimensional modelling skills to bring together data from multiple sources and provide well governed data solutions for business analysts to interrogate.

The successful applicant will?initially be responsible for delivering a data platform to facilitate?contractual reporting?requirements on a UK Government project. They will?need to work with a wide base of stakeholders to define operational reporting?and data?visualisation?needs.?They will ideally?have experience of working in the facilities management industry?and be familiar with the kinds of datasets generated by a CAFM system.?

The BI Manager will be an expert in the Microsoft BI stack and will be able to advise how to best utilise and configure the various applications in order to develop high quality data pipelines for onward analysis.

We are looking for a self-starter with an enquiring mind who is confident in their own decision-making ability, with a strong focus on quality and process improvement.


  • Design and develop data solutions using the Microsoft BIstack
  • Develop and maintain documentation for deployedsolutions
  • Work closely with data analysts toensure solutionscontinue to meet their needs and that data is quality assured andaccurate
  • Provide technical support to data warehouses, data models, and ETLprocesses
  • Help develop and drive the technical capabilities within theGovernment Solutionsteam
  • Work with business and technical staff to resolve problems and respond to suggestions for improvements orenhancements
  • Assess, innovate and recommend new technologies or approaches to help deliver a higher qualitysolution
  • Assist in rectification of production outages and issues, including identification of rootcause and design offixes
  • Support other technical activities whenrequested
  • Supportthe development ofBI strategyandgovernanceprocesses

Skills and Experience

Must have:

  • Experience of being solely responsible for delivering business intelligence and data analytics solutions
  • Demonstrable skills in database concepts,warehousing anddata modelling techniques
  • Strongdevelopmentskills onthe Microsoft BI Stack including SQL Server technologies(T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) and Power BI
  • Strong understandingof statistical concepts and methodsused in dataanalysis
  • Ability to writecomplex SQL queriesand storedprocedures
  • Experience communicating data insights and ideas to a broad business?audience?
  • Confidence when dealing with senior?stakeholders?
  • Ability to work with non-technical users?to define?requirements?
  • Strong focus on data quality and structure?
  • Self-motivation and ability to work without intensesupervision
  • A desire to learn new skills, keep aware of market trends and recommend / adopt new?technologies?
  • Pride in their work, and sense of accountability for deliverables


  • Experience of working with systems and datasets within the Facilities Management industry
  • Experience of delivering Big Data solutionsincluding Data Lakes
  • Experience of Python / R in Machine Learning would beuseful
  • Experience delivering within Agileteams
  • Experience working with streaming datae.gIoT

The role holder will?be eligible for SC clearance and must have been resident in the UK for the last five years.?
