Amentum is seeking a Structural Ironworker to support our overseas project.

Performing all tasks and assignments in a safe and effective manner.
Perform layout of construction requirements utilizing drawings and specifications.
Perform selective demolition at the project site and removal of refuse from the area.
Assist teammates with material handling, to assure safe movement.
Bolt aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent bolting, or welding into place.
Connect columns, beams, and girders with high strength bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
Drive drift pins through bolts holes in order to align holes in structural-steel members with corresponding holes in previously placed members.
Fasten structural-steel members in place using high-strength structural bolts.
Understand the requirements for erection of steel structures under AISC.
Position structural-steel members into final positions, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural-steel members.
Pull, push, or pry structural-steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place.
Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels.
Cut, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.
Fabricate metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, and girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
Insert sealing strips, wiring, insulating material, ladders, flanges, gauges, and valves, depending on types of structures being assembled.
Read and understand specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, sequence, quantities, and sizes of materials required.

Minimum Requirements

    Vocational / Technical / Related Experience in the Ironwork Trade beyond High School
    At least 7 years of experience in the ironwork trade
    Must be able and willing to perform physical activities, such as moving and lifting heavy objects, etc.
    Due to the nature of the work must be a US citizen
    Must have an active Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

    Previous overseas experience
    Experience in multiple trade skills (Carpentry / Plumbing)
