Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Program Manager to join our team in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The program manager will deliver a Contractor Project Management Plan (CPMP) that lays out the programs operational workload of this task order (TO) effort.  
  • use VA’s implementation of the Jira, GitHub or other VA approved toolset to provide a single Agile project/product lifecycle management tool to track execution details. 
  • determine which team members require access to the VA network and VA approved toolset.
  • create, maintain, analyze, and report integrated schedules.
  • provide schedule updates to Jira/GitHub, VA or selected tracking system/source code repository code on a weekly basis. 
  • provide input to the Product Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), at a minimum once a week, in cases where VA maintains.
  • provide and update a product-oriented Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to track project decomposition and value delivery.
  • conduct risk management of all work performed under this TO and provide input to the product Risk Management registry within the VA approved toolset maintained by VA.
  • Comply with and/or establish the Risk Management Plan where one is not already established by VA.
  • Collaborate with project team to actively manage, size (level of effort), develop approved mitigations and plans of action and milestones and assess/re-assess probability and severity of project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Program Manager must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small.  
  • Must be able to manage a portfolio of projects.
  • Must be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, structure and management practices.
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to the program. 
  • Must be able to manage to cost, schedule and performance.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain VA Public Trust Clearance

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.

Must be able to move about inside the office or IT environment to access computer systems, modules; equipment and IT machinery.

Must be able to constantly operate computers and other IT environment systems such as IT machinery, modules, etc.

Must be able to position self to maintain computer systems both at lower height levels and upper height levels as needed and required.

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The person in this position must be able to detect, identify, and judge audible alarms.

The person in this position must be able to detect, identify, observe, and assess written communications; presentations; and manuals.

Must be able to move, install, uninstall, and transport up to 50 pounds in an IT officer environment.

May be required to work in outdoor environment and be exposed to outdoor weather conditions as needed or required.
