KBR is looking for a Launch Specialist to support an IC customer in Chantilly, VA. In this role you will provide engineering support to critical programs and upcoming acquisitions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Use technical expertise to support the customer in launch planning, launch integration, and day of launch activities
  • Participate and represent the customer in various Government and contractor meetings and attend contractor programmatic and technical reviews (e.g. PMR, PDR, CDR, and other meetings) to provide technical and programmatic-based system recommendations and risk assessments
  • Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks
  • Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts
  • Author, review, and coordinate documents and data to aid the Government in decision-making
  • Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years or more experience; Masters and 8; or PhD/JD and 5 years of experience
  • Experience with understanding of launch vehicle missions, performance, processing, and SV to LV integration
  • Knowledgeable in all types of satellite-launch interface requirements and technology, setting of requirements, ICD documentation, and associated verification approaches
  • Understanding of satellite integration and test procedures and processes, launch site satellite processing, joint launch operations, Day-of-Launch preparation and execution
  • Versed in standard launch integration requirements, range requirements, safety requirements
  • Familiar with statements of work and their structure, basic contract types and incentives
  • Ability to support launch integration and day of launch activities (CONUS and OCONUS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • Proficient at program/project management within the customer organization
  • Experience with government and commercial systems a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Available to travel domestically and internationally
