Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the collection and submission of network and service management requirements to IT to support the deployment of new platforms and services.
  • Assist system administrators with networking services including; but not limited to, training, documentation, upgrades/repairs, and management of complex compute environment, which currently utilizes VMWare, HP server components, Microsoft, Linux, security services for monitoring, and other various systems.
  • The Sr. Network Administrator will ensure security requirements are met as defined by the customer policy and that network and system documentation is accurate, up-to-date and published in directed repositories.
  • Ensure cross training & documentation occur in a manner that results in no single point of failure in terms of human knowledge.
  • Provide network engineering and administrative support for on-prem and specialty designated infrastructures.
  • Provide configuration deployment/changes, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to customer networking components.
  • Knowledge of network device rack installations, fiber cable installation, and deployment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years w/High School Diploma.
  • 07-09 years w/Associates or technical degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 04-06 years w/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Ten years work experience in complex systems design, networking, programming and systems software and support.
  • Demonstrated Experience working in an enterprise environment with CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls/ASAs. 
  • Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting network protocols such as OSPF, and BGP.
  • Understanding of Cisco router and switch technologies such as StackWise, Inter-Vlan routing, MEC, L2, L3, Dot1x, Dot1q, routing/switching ports, Port-Security, ACLs, SNMPv3, and Syslog.
  • Support network planning and engineering, identification of new requirements, documentation of requirements, and submission of Customer Service Requests (CSR).

Required certification: Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II with at least 14 months prior to renewal (e.g. Security+, CASP, CISSP or CCNP Security certification) or candidates who can be compliant within 6 months of starting their position.

  • Knowledge of routing protocols and familiarity with concepts associated to cloud computing and virtualization.
  • Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment.
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Displays a customer-centric attitude with a high level of energy and sense of urgency.
  • Strong team and collaborative orientation.
  • Ability to create and follow-up with vendor Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Cases.
  • Ability to register and deploy licenses for on-prem based networking devices.
  • Ability to work with vendors for equipment procurement and vendor trainings/briefings on newly developed specific networking technologies.
  • Experience with CISCO DNAC systems installation, configuration and deployment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

Desired Certifications:

CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Cloud+

Cisco CCT

Cisco CCNA/CCNP Enterprise

Or equivalent certifications and training

Security Clearance Requirement:

Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Some moving of networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a 5ft ladder to run fiber cabling for connectivity.
