The Directed Energy Weapons Department is seeking a software engineer with experience working on directed energy (DE) laser weapon or similar systems. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong written and verbal communication and proficiency in analytical skills. The individual is also a motivated self-starter, and participant in professional and community activities. The ideal candidate will be technically sound and committed to innovative, cost-effective solutions for DE laser system development. The candidate will work with other engineers to support the design, development, integration, and verification of laser systems.

Experience requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and government test facilities.
  • An active, or ability to obtain, U.S. Security Clearance.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer engineering or related field.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with high energy laser systems
  • Experience with automatic video tracking and image processing
  • Experience developing firmware and board support packages (BSP)
  • Experience with embedded real-time systems
  • Experience with guidance, navigation and controls
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation (including familiarity with MATLAB)
