Description

We are looking for candidates passionate about craftsmanship, teamwork, and delivering user capability to join SAIC supporting the Air Force weather community on the Technology Application Development & Sustainment (TADS) contract. 
Engineers will design, develop, and maintain software systems from science to operations within an empowered, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

Requirements:
•    Bachelors and five (5) or more years of experience, Masters and three (3) or more years of experience, PhD and 0 or more years of experience or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree
•    Experience with programming languages such as Java, React, Python
•    Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code approaches using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt
•    Experience with designing, developing, and operating services and service infrastructure such as web and application servers
•    Experience with designing, developing, and operating secure web APIs using REST and related technologies
•    Advanced knowledge of Linux
•    Demonstrated experience with release patterns
•    Using security scanning tools to mitigate API vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10 is a plus
•    Application platforms (OpenShift, Cloud)
•    Ability to support 24x7 on-call rotation
•    Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean, Theory of Constraints)
•    Experience with configuration management tools (Git, Mercurial, ...)
•    Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts and enabling tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible
•    Familiarity with service based standards such as REST and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Services (OWS)  
•    Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter)
•    Code quality tools (e.g. SonarQube , Cast)
•    Must be a US Citizen
•    Must have TS/SCI Clearance 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    CompTIA Security+, Network+, CSSLP, or equivalent
•    Familiarity with 557th Weather Wing
•    Familiarity with meteorological data formats like METAR, GriB, GriB2, and NetCDF
•    Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
•    Familiarity with container/orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS Blox
•    ChatOps (Mattermost, Slack)
