SAIC is seeking Spacecraft/Satellite Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer for a complex space and ground efforts as part of an exciting and innovative set of programs.
The Spacecraft/Satellite Systems Engineer provides support to the Systems Program Office (SPO) in acquisition and execution of mission critical systems. The Project Scheduler is part of a team of high-performing subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for planning, development and execution of new acquisitions, monitoring contract execution and providing technical analysis. The Spacecraft/Satellite Systems Engineer responsibilities may include but not limited to the following:
Work with Government customer leads, spacecraft system developers, and other subject matter experts across SETA and FFRDC teams.
Assess spacecraft and payload subsystem technical performance within cost and schedule constraints. Identify risks to program plans and schedules, and support development of corrective action plans.
Collaborate with contractor teams to review requirements and lead Government team reviews to provide feedback.
Participate in life-cycle reviews, technical exchange meetings, and ad-hoc discussions on a variety of technical subjects providing technically sound feedback and recommendations based upon understanding of system CONOPs and requirements.
Support technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
Review contractor verification and validation plans.
Review contractor developed test plans and test reports to assess progress, risks, and issues in support of verification and validation activities.
Confirm requirements verification by evaluating unit, subsystem, and system performance and environmental test data, analysis, inspection, and demonstration results.
Active TS/SCI with Poly
BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering w/9+ years of experience
Five or more years of engineering experience with satellite systems and payloads
Experience working in a spacecraft system program office or a satellite development facility
Strong background and experience with LEO satellite systems
Understanding of RF systems and applications
Self-starter. Independent. Team player. Ability to identify and execute value-added activities in the absence of specific direction.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to work virtually and in-person with teams located in diverse geographic locations.
MS in Engineering
Experience with multiple spacecraft programs and a variety of development contractors
Knowledge of DoD and IC acquisition processes and practices.
In-depth technical experience with either SIGINT and/or Radar systems and payloads.
