Sr. Mechanical Systems Engineer

KBR is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Systems Engineer to provide Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) Lead support for a NASA GSFC flight project.

Tasks include:

  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers in development of MGSE designs for a space flight project.
  • Lead development of assembly and test procedures to support MGSE development activities including assembly, proof tests, environmental testing, lifts and other special handling.
  • Work with Project Management, Resource Analysts and Schedulers to ensure MGSE development and I&T support activities are completed within budget and in accordance with project schedule requirements.
  • Work with Scientists, Product Design Leads (PDLs), Systems Engineers, Discipline Engineers and Technicians to ensure timely completion of assembly, integration and testing activities.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of NASA MGSE development procedural guidelines and standards
  • Integration and Testing per NASA standards
  • Experience with NASA space flight hardware environmental testing including TVAC and vibration testing
  • Creo design software
  • Knowledge and application of NASA drawing standards
  • Knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Microsoft Office software products
