Contamination Control Technician

KBR is seeking a Contamination Control Technician to support NRL.

US citizenship is required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support, execute or oversee Contamination Control tasks such as coordination of cleanroom laundry/consumables, cleanroom facility certifications, and precision cleaning of ground support, engineering, and space flight hardware.
  • Execute or oversee contamination surface cleanliness verification using industry standard techniques and prepare sampling swabs and wipes for verifications.
  • Support Contamination Control activities for spacecraft and instrument Integration and Test (I&T).
  • Support Planetary Protection activities including equipment sterilization, facility sampling and autoclave operation.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4 + years of experience working in cleanroom environments
  • Mechanical skills related to simple hand tools and operation of precision cleaning laboratory equipment such as a gravimetric analysis setup, microbalance, ultrasonic cleaner and particle counter.
  • Knowledge and application of standards (ASTM, IEST, ISO, NASA) documents and policies relating to cleanliness verification.
  • High degree of initiative with problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of an integrated project team with limited supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (reading, writing & oral) skills, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft equivalent office products such as: Outlook, Word & Excel.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Associate Degree
  • Experience precision cleaning space flight hardware
  • Experience with I&T activities for space flight hardware.
  • Experience operating scientific instrumentation and vacuum chambers.
