SAIC is in need of a career U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer to provide multi-warfare subject matter expertise, with a primary focus in Surface Warfare (SUW) in support of advanced, high-level pre-deployment training to Carrier Strike Groups, Expeditionary Strike Groups, Amphibious Ready Groups/Marine Expeditionary Units and other military forces. This position is for someone who is passionate about training and ensuring our Naval Forces are fully trained and ready for deployment.
Place of performance is at Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (EWTGP) in San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Fleet Concentration Areas. The position is in support of war games and integrated and advanced fleet training
The SUW War Game Facilitator will:
Research and develop scenarios for high-end military war games and other curricula as part of fleet training requirements for Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Group Commanders and staffs, and subordinate Warfare Commanders and staffs
Input war game scenarios into modeling & simulation (M&S) systems and C4I systems as required for war game execution
Facilitate war game execution by role-playing constructive red, blue, and neutral forces as required, while managing scenario flow and interactions to achieve desired training objectives
Support development of IAMD, SUW, USW, and STW aspects for EWTGP Live-Virtual-Constructive training initiatives
Provide SME support to EWTGP in latest USN doctrine, tactics, & all related systems for Surface Warfare (SUW)
Liaise with Navy centers of excellence on latest surface warfare tactics, techniques and procedures, to include IAMD, SUW, USW, and STW.
Required Education and Experience:
Interim Secret clearance, must be able to obtain Final Secret
Thorough knowledge of AEGIS-equipped warship duties, warfare assignments, combat information center staffing, and system capabilities and limitations
20 years demonstrated expertise in planning, implementation and execution of surface warfare tactics, direction and employment of units, and coordination requirements between warships, warfare commanders, subordinate units, and higher headquarters.
Minimum experience is post-department tour on fleet, carrier strike, expeditionary strike group, destroyer squadron staff or equivalent staff/position
In-depth understanding of destroyer squadron staff roles and responsibilities
Experience translating training objectives into a comprehensive war game or similar training exercise
