Description

SAIC anticipates a requirement for multiple in-service engineering and training technicians to support corrosion control maintenance at various Navy and Marine Corps installations across the US and some OCONUS locations. These positions are contingent upon contract award.  Contract award is expected March 2022.

The technicians will support Naval Aviation corrosion maintenance and TMS corrosion mitigation at Fleet shore activities.  Duties will include providing corrosion related technical advice to platform logistic and sustainment teams and training Fleet personnel on corrosion maintenance tasks.

The positions require a well-rounded combination of formal education, training, and experience in the theory and application of aviation scheduled maintenance planning, performing corrosion maintenance task training, providing draft recommendations for corrosion maintenance plan updates as well as corrosion related Continuous Process Improvement. 

Possession of Naval Aviation Maintenance data systems expertise, analytic skill, Maintenance Control experience, instructor experience and the ability to achieve desired outcomes without direct supervision is imperative to successfully perform the duties of this position.  Technicians must be able to work on technical projects in a distributed team environment with TMS Program Office SMEs and military to collaboratively identify, develop and execute corrosion abatement solutions.

 

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience on naval aviation platforms within the past 7 years is required.
  • 2 years of aviation maintenance control/scheduled maintenance planning experience is desired. Naval Aviation instructor, continuous process improvement training is also highly desired.
  • High School diploma/GED and technical training in a relevant technical field
  • Non-military equivalent experience level is at or above senior journeyman level, Senior Electronics, Airframes Artisan or Engineering Technician level, etc.

Optional sources include:

  • Navy "A" and/or "C" schools or service equivalent schools
  • Accredited Vocational Education Institutions
  • OEM/Factory technical training programs related to the system(s)/equipment being supported
  • Certified Instructor, NEC 9502 or equivalent / Master Training Specialist (MTS)
  • Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) certification

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Some positions will require a Top Secret clearance depending on location
