SAIC is hiring a Training Analyst to work at Hurlburt Field in Florida. 

Job Description: 

Coach and teach division and corps staff on how to effectively integrate joint airpower capabilities into assigned ground missions and resulting ground commander’s scheme of maneuver. Coaching and teaching provided will assist soldiers working to employ joint airpower. We teach the soldiers how to think about integration of joint fires and airspace control into the ground commander’s scheme of maneuver. Joint airpower integration includes, but not limited to, joint air tasking cycle, joint airspace control, joint air defense, planning and engineering and practicing joint shared awareness. Our joint air-ground subject matter experts coach and teach division, corps, and Army Service Component Command soldiers how to:

• Plan, prepare, quality check and submit air support requests
• Create operationally relevant, time relevant unit airspace plans and to prepare and submit airspace coordination means requests to the joint airspace control coordinator
• Receive and understand air tasking orders and airspace control orders
• Construct and display joint fires, joint airpower enabled common operational picture
• Plan and execute joint fires
• Plan and execute clearance of fires including clearance of airspace to enable clearance of fires
• Consider how best to exploit those supporting functions such as collection management, joint targeting and intelligence support to targeting
• The selected candidate will perform within a team construct to conduct joint air-ground integration training, JAGI training support, technical assistance, event analysis for all Army echelon above brigade Warfighter exercises and selected Army Service Component exercises.
• They must understand and employ the principles of effective writing as well as writing for a scholarly military audience.
• Note: This may occur in an environment with a participating BCD, with a BCD response cell, with doctrinal ABCS and TBMCS systems operating, or with various manual methods in the absence or degraded operation of doctrinal C2 systems. When augmented by Soldiers from an operational BCD, the contractor shall coordinate their participation with MCTP and FORSCOM as appropriate.

Other essential requirements:

• As part of our larger joint-air ground integration team,
  • Participate in all exercise life cycle events including all planning events
  • Conduct analysis of training audience and enabling units. Analysis will be targeted on those areas seen during planning, training, or Warfighter exercises that provide general insights, with possible force-wide implications, into how the Army plans for and employs all facets of joint fires including joint airpower. From our analysis, we feed the MCTP AAR process and nominate topics for possible publication through Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL).
  • Provide seminar-based instruction to Army division and corps headquarters staffs regarding the processes, products, and C2 systems involved in the effective conduct of air-ground operations per Army doctrine; joint doctrine; and emergent tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) from exercises and combat experiences. These seminars are called “Mission Command Training” (MCT) Seminars or Warfighter Academics, last approximately one hour, and involve a seminar audience of 20 to 50 participants. These seminars may include general officers. The contractor will support these seminars with at least one instructor/analyst who possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Army Air-Ground System, the Theater Air Control System, and the C2 processes and products involved. For training audiences scheduled for deployment, the contractor shall research and present instruction reflecting current in-theater C2 processes/procedures (vice a presentation based solely upon doctrine and multiservice tactics, techniques, and procedures). The contractor may be asked to present topics alone or in collaboration with a US Air Force representative.
  • Perform as Observer-Controller-Trainer (OCT) located at the MCTP event execution site(s) to provide coaching/teaching to the training audience and to provide observations and input to the MCTP Operations Group for After-Action Reviews. Most MCTP events involve 24-hour / day operations.
  • Prepare and submit to the Summit Program Site Manager, trip reports in Microsoft Word and in our trip report format posted in our Writing Resources folder here: . Receipt of this deliverable will be documented in the COR’s monthly report to the Contracting Officer. Consequently, the trip report must be delivered to the Summit Site PM three business days after the event end.
  • Provide C2 products as necessary to support joint air-ground C2 processes during the first four days of a MCTP event. Typically during an event, four air battle plans will be in various stages of planning, plus one will be in execution planning / force execution, and one will be in the final assessment stage. At the commencement of division and corps-level events, there need to be C2 products available to drive the air operations C2 processes for 48 to 72 hours. These products shall be coordinated with the supporting USAF organization(s), shall be consistent with the event scenario (or be based on extracts from an operational theater), and shall be in a format compatible with the C2 systems / automation systems in use for the event. Examples of such products are:
    • Joint Air Operations Plan
    • Air Operations Directive
    • Air Support Requests
    • Airspace Coordinating Measure Requests
    • Air Support list
    • Air Tasking Order
    • Airspace Control Plan
    • Airspace Control Order
    • Area Air Defense Plan
    • Special Instructions
• Note: These products are typically provided by the Government except for the air support requests (that are aggregated into an air support list) and the airspace coordinating measure requests. As may be coordinated with the training unit, the contractor may only prepare the basic information for these products, leaving the details to be completed by the training unit.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) year or more experience; Additional experience may be substitued for degree
• Must have an active Secret clearance
• Applicants must be know how to communicate effectively using the written and spoken word.

Desired:

• A well qualified candidate will have successfully completed Joint Air Operations Command and Control Course at Hurlburt Field, have served at least one job posting or assignment at Echelons Above Brigade, have served at either at Battlefield Coordination Detachment or Joint Air Operations Center, or have served within the Theater Air Control System/Army Air Ground System.
