The IT and O&M team of the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) is critical in supporting DoD, Federal, and IC partners’ Global War on Terrorism efforts by providing system engineering; administration; performance improvement; system risk management; data management; network operations and monitoring; and systems and business process automation services for the day-to-day operation of DOMEX Information Technology Systems: maintaining effective positive control of system resources, workflows, and DOMEX operations.

Currently, ManTech is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform system administration of specialized applications and systems to include installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore.
  • Assist with creating, editing, and managing changes to network or system access control lists.
  • Use and recommend automated tools to implement policies and procedures
  • Limited travel in the National Capital Region (NCR) area (e.g., DC, Reston, Springfield).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or High school diploma/GED with 10 or more years' relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Compliant, IAT Level II minimum. 
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of server and enterprise application architectures within an environment to include experience with Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, DFS, and experience implementing file, email, and active directory services across multiple geographically dispersed data centers.
  • Provide first contact and incident resolution to customers with hardware, software, and application problems for both customer telephone support and electronically submitted requests.
  • Assist with troubleshooting systems hardware and software when issues occur.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DODIIS OS, e.g., Windows 10, Server 2016, CentOS or Red Hat Linux, VMware ESX.
  • Active Directory (AD) experience to include Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Group Policy, AD best practices, establishing an AD roadmap, and strong knowledge of AD zone types as well as multi forest design and communications.
  • Experience standing up domains to include PowerShell, hands-on experience in IAM Identity and Access Management (IAM) / Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and a working knowledge of system hardening (STIGs, SRGs, regulatory compliance)
  • Experience with patch management, e.g., SCCM.
  • Experience with monitoring and/or vulnerability scanning software, e.g., ACAS, Splunk, SolarWinds.
  • Experience with Project Management and/or Service Desk software, e.g., Jira, Jira Service Desk, Service Central.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Able to detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, & Assess.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
