We have an exciting opportunity to take an enthusiastic and focused individual into our business, giving you real, hands on experience in IT Solutions and Facilities Management. We will support you in working to achieve a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship, with 20% of your time dedicated to learning and study.

Your Apprenticeship and Role

To work across multiple contracts acting as the initial point of contact for the customer, supply chain and internal teams for all queries relating to the system (primarily Concept and SharePoint), business processes, reporting and change requests. You will be required to log and triage queries acting as, 1st support with development into 2nd line, in order to provide accurate feedback and information or escalating as required. You will be driven to understand the mechanics behind system operation to best respond to users raising queries. You will be responsible for coordinating the Change Approvals Board maintaining accurate updates to all parties as changes are raised, reviewed, tested and released. As a motivated, self-starter you will take ownership for your own performance and actively seek opportunities for improvement and development.

This role will ideally suit someone looking to begin a career in IT system support with the opportunity to gain experience across numerous functions from support and data management to change management and system design and development.

Specific:

  • Providing 1st line support of the IT systems (Concept and SharePoint) facilitating the operation of projects
  • Development into 2nd line support with more in depth investigation
  • Supporting user account set up and management
  • Monitoring trends within JIRA (support software) to identify areas of concern or knowledge gaps
  • Triage change requests and support testing as they are developed
  • Maintain an accurate change log to support the Change Approvals Board
  • Ensure accuracy in reported data and system efficiency
  • Supporting customer relationships in line with operational business need
  • Ensure contractual requirements are delivered and maintained
  • Active client management including formal reporting and informal relationship management and development
  • Taking accurate minutes and capturing actions from meetings as required
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of tools, processes and training material which support projects goals
  • Working with internal teams in order to drive efficient delivery of contract obligations identifying areas for improvement and enhancement
  • Internal colleague relationship management and opportunity development
  • Support compliance with processes and procedures to satisfy internal and external auditors
  • Comply and embrace KBR “Zero harm” policy encouraging a safe and secure working environment

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A level in IT or related subject
  • Be in a position to obtain security clearance

Desirable:

  • Clean driving license
  • Experience of CAFM systems – ideally Concept Evolution
  • Experience of SharePoint and associated tools – InfoPath, Nintex and QuickApps

Experience and Skills:

Essential:

  • IT Skills – Strong ability using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Shows initiative, self-starter
  • Strong team player, capable of gaining trust and support of team and customer
  • Good communication skills
  • Inquisitive by nature, able to challenge the norm and investigate using data to support findings
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to adapt

Desirable:

  • Experience of using multiple IT systems
  • Experience taking minutes and capturing actions from meetings
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service with strong customer focus
  • Able to work across multiple projects and manage demands on multiple fronts
  • Organised – ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Sets and meets challenging goals and seeks long term improvement
