Program Manager (Maternity Leave position - 9 months)

Kellogg Brown and Root Pty Ltd (KBR) are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals looking to further their career in project management within the training industry. KBR is a leading service provider delivering solutions to the Government & Defence sectors for the last 20 years. We are specialists in the design and delivery of leading-edge training solutions, systems engineering, systems and enterprise architecture, project management, and integrated logistic support.

The role is a fixed duration, maternity leave replacement position for an initial nine month period based at the Royal Australian Navy’s training facility at Randwick Barracks in support of the RAN’s Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) platform.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team and manage a large training project developing and delivering technical and non-technical training.

Responsibilities

Manage stakeholders, including building constructive relationships with both Defence stakeholders, KBR staff and subcontractors

Manage project schedule, budget, scope, resourcing, quality and risk

Deliver outcomes within the agreed budget and time with minimal risk to the health and safety of any person and the environment

Report regularly on the progress and outcome of all aspects of the project. Adopt and encourage a ‘no surprises’ approach to project delivery

Manage contracts and contract variations

Understand the client’s expectations and contracted entitlements.

Lead a project team, including two direct reports

Monitor client satisfaction

Foster a positive relationship with our client and the KBR team that is focused on contemporary learning solutions

Ensure technical reviews and design checks are performed in accordance with the project documentation and relevant follow-up or remedial action is completed

Ensure relevant aspects of the quality system are observed, compliance audits are undertaken and quality system documents are updated to reflect all changes on the project

Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for project growth and improvement

Requirements

5+ years of project management experience

Experience in a learning and development environment

Experience in working with Defence

Postgraduate qualification in project management, business or learning and development

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to produce high quality work within tight timeframes

Currently hold or have the ability to obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
