Description
SAIC is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our remote team supporting SAIC’s CloudScend Broker service offering. The ideal candidate has a background in software development with a recent movement towards the automation of operational support for developed solutions within a Cloud Service Provider environment (ex. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, GCP). This is remote work that may be performed from any location within the United States.
Job Description:
Perform requirement analysis, optimization, and verification to enhance cloud and application performance across planned and existing cloud-based implementations.
Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices.
Job specific responsibilities:
Perform job functions within a managed services environment.
Develop new infrastructure as code templates to support planned and existing implementations.
Implement new automation and orchestration workflows for existing and future implementations.

A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Go, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline, and 14 years or more of experience; Masters and twelve years or more experiencel PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
10+ years of generalized IT experience
Five (5+) years or more of MS Azure or AWS or GCP architecture experience
2-3 years of Kubernetes experience
Three (3+) or more years of experience with DevSecOps.
One (1+) or more years of experience with infrastructure as code approaches using Hashicorp Teraform Enterprise or related technology.
Desired Skills:
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance during employment
CompTIA Security+ (or alternative DoD Manual 8570 IAT II or above certification)

Previous success with engineering projects
Success in automation and orchestration, including CI/CD pipelines

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
