Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior System Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and respond to service desk tickets and emails to assist customers requiring technical support.
  • Handle calls, emails, and tickets assigned prior to escalating to other teams or leadership.
  • Add detailed work notes to all assigned tickets until resolved or escalated to another team.
  • Provide status updates when requested.
  • Move, setup, and/or install IT hardware for customers.
  •  Troubleshoot and repair/resolve various issues/requests for peripheral devices.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues/requests.
  • Provide desk-side end user support when necessary.
  • Update and document inventory changes when necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Act as a single point of contact for existing incident and requests
  • Identify process and procedures which need to be corrected or added to the Knowledge base.
  • Manage time and workload to meet predetermined service levels.
  • Attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  • Provide polite and friendly customer service.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, printers, laptops, and Windows applications in a Windows environment.
  • Experience with supporting Windows 10 Systems and Windows Server 2016/2019.
  • Experience working with inventory management software.
  • Experience using Jira and Jira Service desk.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining an Active Directory environment.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Linux Command Line
  • One or more IT certifications such as A+, Security+, Network +, etc. 

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a minimum Secret clearance to start.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/Talking and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Requires frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Working with computers.
  • Must be able to lift and move hardware weighing up to 50 pounds.
