Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Manager to join our team in Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide the planning, direction, coordination, and control necessary to accomplish all work requirements
  • Manage, and oversee all technical activities performed by contractor personnel, including subcontractors, to satisfy the contract requirements
  • Responsible for all technical performance and will serve as the ManTech single point-of-contact with the program office for technical matters and issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in Systems Engineering, including Requirements Analysis and System Architecture Design, and Architecting Border Security Solutions
  • Experience with managing technical teams that procure, deploy, and maintain License Plate Readers (LPR), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Readers, Biometric Systems, Signage, and Mobile Technologies
  • Experience in middleware, software, and firmware maintenance activities, as well as upgrades, patches, and technology refresh
  • Ability to identify technology trends and provide recommendations for architecture enhancements to meet short-term and long-term mission objectives
  • Proven ability to motivate, enable, direct, and supervise a multi-disciplined technical team of up to 50 FTEs located throughout CONOUS locations to meet ongoing operations, projects and deliverable requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • An ITIL v4 certification
  • Demonstrated experience leading design and implementation of complex solutions on a large-scale program ($200M+)
  • An Agile or Project Management certification, such as: Certified ScrumMaster, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, SAFe Agilist or SAFe for Government, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain an U.S. Customs and Border Protection Suitability (CBP) full background investigation

Physical Requirements:

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. 
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet. 
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 
  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.
