Mechanical Engineer

Position Description/Job Responsibilities:

  • This position will support our Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS), B-1 and B-52 customers, by solving mechanical sustainment issues
  • The engineer will provide technical solutions and lead the design, integration, and installation of sustainment projects
  • Under direct supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
  • With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum two (2) years of general engineering experience; Aerospace, DOD or ATCALS experience preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks and finite element programs preferred
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training preferred
  • Job tasks may include:
  • Providing technical solutions
  • Diagnosing malfunctions in existing components and make improvements or modification to produce the desired results
  • Developing technical documentation and publications relating to users, systems, processes, workflows, operations, products, and services.
  • Creating new drawings
  • Implementing design changes of existing components
  • Writing engineering change orders and reports
  • Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required
  • Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
