KBR is seeking a Capture Manager for the Science & Space Division. The Capture Manager will support the Business Development (BD) Team and will be responsible for leading capture activities throughout the full lifecycle of BD. This includes identifying opportunities, maturing opportunities through the capture process, and supporting opportunities through the proposal process. The Capture Manager will report directly to the Director of Capture Excellence of Science & Space.

The Capture Manager is responsible for the capture ownership of assigned opportunities and must thrive in an environment where they are responsible for the management and execution of the full BD life-cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals. The Capture Manager will routinely be assigned 2-3 large concurrent ($75M+) solicitation pursuits at various stages of the capture lifecycle primarily in the Federal Civilian mission IT space. The ideal candidate will have previously served as a successful capture manager with proven experience capturing new business within the Federal Civilian

mission IT space in the areas of cyber, DevSecOps, and IT modernization.

Responsibilities include leading all capture management activities such as build out of capture plans, ensure plan completion, leads kick off meetings, responsible for sec team resources, ability to obtain buy in and approval from all decision makers and the overall gate and capture review process. The capture manager will be responsible for all intelligence & analysis. Develops baseline and foundation for win strategy and technical approach. Leads efforts of building a winning team to tell the overall win story. Drive all capture and bd lifecycle opportunities. Develop plan for all marketing activities. Responsible for development of proposal package to tell a win story that directly relates to the needs, issues and challenges of the customer. Influence stakeholders and customers on win strategy.


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with demonstrated success in business development and capture of contracts valued greater than $75M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Demonstrated successes reflecting the ability to “grow the business” with an emphasis on Civilian Mission IT, Health IT, and/or Civil Space programs.
  • Strong skill in business writing – both technical and non-technical
  • Familiarity and experience managing and utilizing tools such as Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
  • Working knowledge and experience with space, engineering support, or mission IT acquisition organizations
  • Experience developing account plans and capture plans for new business opportunities.
  • Experience in the following discipline(s): Business development, capture management, program management, science and engineering programs, civil space programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification.
  • Military, DoD, or civilian experience acquiring, fielding, or operating aerospace, avionics, supporting ground systems and other transportation systems, as well as the IT infrastructure and applications required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currency in relevant professional organizations and societies (e.g., AIAA, MSBR, etc.)
  • Masters in related discipline or MBA
