Description

SAIC is seeking an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to support a MILSATCOM Program Office managing and developing a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure. The candidate will provide engineering, test and evaluation and product integration support of a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:   
  • Develop, design, plan and execute testing on the Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre Processor (TDSPP), Milstar Messaging Application (MMA), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Family of Beyond Line of Sight Terminal (FAB-T), Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT), various other systems, subsystems and MILSATCOM devices
  • Provide engineering and technician-level support for each of the above systems, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, system-level anomaly resolution, and the identification and isolation of software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
  • Have working knowledge of and the ability to employ basic SATCOM principles including spread spectrum, TRANSEC, COMSEC, intermediate frequency, operating frequency, frequency translation, encoding/decoding, modulation/demodulation, bandwidth, antenna theory/RF propagation, baseband data transmission protocols and interfaces, terminal port usage and configuration, basic communication planning/frequency coordination and test equipment use
  • Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
  • Configure, operate and troubleshoot MILSATCOM terminals, including baseband interface, in preparation, execution and reporting stages of test and evaluation

     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
  • US Citizenship and Secret clearance are required for the position
  • 5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
  • 5+ years of experience with MILSATCOM equipment and troubleshooting, DoD/USAF test processes and documentation and handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired:
  • Specific experience operating or maintaining the following: AFCPT, TDSPP, MMA, GMT, FAB-T, SMART-T, PNVC, GBS Receive Suites, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M, ANDVT, KGV-11, KG-250), or related infrastructure and/or support equipment
  • 4+ years of test and evaluation experience on a major defense acquisition program
  • SATCOM working knowledge with the ability to translate fundamental principles to testing requirements
  • Ability to develop procedures to satisfy testing based on overarching system capabilities and generic requirements documentation

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
