Executive Legal Assistant

Executive Legal Assistant Specialist supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Office of General Counsel (OGC) located in Aurora Colorado, Ft. Belvoir Virginia, and potential offices in the near future throughout the country. The Executive Legal Assistant provides critical support to the OGC and its government and contracting staff by completing incoming/outgoing subpoena requests, coordinating staff travel arrangements, providing government staff timecard oversight, performing recordkeeping tasks, providing reception/phone coverage, daily email management, assisting government and contractor staff with the scheduling of teleconferences and meeting rooms, completing professional credential reimbursements, updating directories and personnel rosters, maintaining and updating position continuity documents, assisting attorneys with the dissemination of Final Decisions, maintaining the law library, coordinating professional conferences and the establishment of meetings and trainings for government and contract staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U. S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s degree)
  • 8+ years of experience and proven longevity in a law firm or legal department.
  • Proven character and personality to work and provide consummate customer services in a high energy legal environment.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, stay organized, prioritize in a very busy government legal environment.
  • Legal Assistants Certification (Maintenance Certification) through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
  • Proven proficiency with processing (incoming/out coming) subpoenas for a legal office/entity.
  • Proven proficiency with creating, coordinating, reviewing, and modifying travel authorizations.
  • Proven proficiency with preparing and submitting timecards.
  • Proven proficiency with performing all legal office recordkeeping functions.
  • Proven proficiency and professionalism in providing reception and phone coverage in a legal organization.
  • Proven proficiency and professionalism with email management.
  • Proven proficiency in scheduling meetings, teleconferences, maintaining directories, and personnel rosters and staff calendars.
  • Proven proficiency in working with attorneys in the processing of Final Decisions.
  • Proven proficiency with maintaining and updating a law library.
  • Must be able to demonstrate Advanced to Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products via pre-employment testing.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience/Proficient with the Defense Travel System (DTS)
  • Experience/Proficient with the Legal Efficiency Automation Platform (LEAP)
  • Experience/Proficient with the Automated Time attendance and Production System (ATAAPS)
  • Knowledge of Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
  • Knowledge and Experience with TMT

Basic Compensation:

Pay range: $59,900 - $89,900

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
