"This is a temporary (BACO-90) position. This position is only authorized for a period that cannot exceed 90 days from date of entry into Germany."

Purpose: Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections of maintenance vehicle and HVAC repairs.

Required to have a working knowledge and experience with use of R12, R22, R134A, R404 and all other types of Refrigerants. Required to operate different evacuation, flushing and recharge systems, units and components of tactical and commercial vehicles as necessarily required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.

Oversees and or conducts inspections on different classifications of wheeled vehicles/equipment at the unit level.
Oversees and or conducts initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders, troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met.
Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department.
Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies and certifies the test results on supporting documents.
Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles of workmanship, procedures to be employed, and quality of work expected.
Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program.
Maintains cross-talk with QA and LAR representatives.
Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise and in-depth mechanical knowledge is required.
Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs.
Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the Amentum Quality Management System.
Performs other duties as assigned. Performs troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on various pieces of wheeled vehicles/equipment, both tactical and non-tactical
Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate.
Ensures HVAC/AC Repair Mechanics adhere to established policies and procedures for Air Condition / Refrigeration
Is familiar with and maintains TM safety procedures when operating and maintaining equipment.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Air Conditioning test, repair and service equipment including multimeters, recovery-recycle and recharge stations, manifold gauge sets, flushing cylinder, vacuum pumps and general mechanics toolsets. Electrical and pneumatic drills, grinders, hand tools, steam cleaning equipment and material handling equipment


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in outdoors environment with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must be able to interact well with fellow employees, be part of the maintenance team.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

High School graduate or equivalent.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
2 years' experience as an HVAC mechanic is required.
Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistics Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
608/609 certifications are required.
Must have a NACI
Must have a U.S. Passport
Must have a valid Driver's License
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Specialized knowledge and skills

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
