MIST Quality Assurance Lead/Inspector

KBR is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead/Inspector to support the MIST contract. The MIST QA Lead/Inspector will conduct dimensional inspections of space-flight hardware, ground support equipment and other components using a CMM, Optical Comparator and other manual inspection tools (gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.), verifying conformance to engineering drawings and/or specification requirements.


  • Perform hardware inspection and paperwork review to ensure compliance with procurement requirements and to document non-conformances as needed.
  • Determine methods, sequences, and procedures necessary for inspection and generates inspection reports.
  • Interface with KBR Quality Assurance and procurement personnel, the customer, and engineers to ensure hardware inspection requirements are satisfied and that discrepancies are recorded and reported in an expedited manner.
  • Lead Team and be responsible for coordinating the daily workload, writing up and signing off on non-conformances, participating in conference calls for scheduling and MRB reviews.

Require Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • High school diploma
  • 10 + years of experience in Quality Assurance inspection
  • PC-DMIS programming experience on and offline is a plus
  • Experience programming and operating a CMM
  • Familiarity with MS Office software suite

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • NASA hardware inspection experience
  • Performing inspections on printed wiring boards and EEE parts would be a plus
  • NASA Quality Inspection Certifications
  • Current J-STD-001 certification preferred
  • Current NASA 8739.1,.2,.3 or IPC-A-610 certification preferred
  • Current NASA 8739.4 or IPC/WHMA-a-620 certification preferred
