Job Description: SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Patuxent River, MD to joint our NAVAIR team supporting PMA 280. In this role you will be supporting the Tomahawk Weapon System Program, working with state-of-the-art design to take advantage of new concepts in the while helping to lead GPS receiver redesign activities. This position will require both leadership and technical skills to ensure that there is coordination across a wide variety of subject matter experts and to review and analyze content to ensure accuracy. This position is eligible for sign on bonuses for qualified candidates.
Overall responsibilities may include:
Advising on, adminstering, or performing, scientific or technical work concerned with engineering, structures, processes, devices, or materials and methods. May be called upon on technical defend and support ideas and proposals.
Work on varied, complex equipment systems and subsystems associated with research, innovation, or reengineering assignments and demonstrates competence and creativity in developing new concepts and new uses of material/hardware/software/tactics.
Will often function as a primary point of contact with contractors, other managers, and sponsors for specific projects.
Leadership of, and participation in, technical interface meetings between varying government, contractor, and other stakeholders.
Research, analysis, and collection of data necessary to support decision making on both engineering and programmatic decision making.
Review, update, and development of systems engineering documentation and presentations including: ECPs, SEP, SEMP, ORD, CCD, and other engineering documentation.
Review, analysis, and acceptance of prime vendor CDRLs.
Leadership of Systems Engineering Techncial Review (SETR) events.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related scientific discipline may be substituted for an additional four (4) years of relevant experience for a total of fourteen (14) years.
At least 5 years or recent and relevant experience in an engineering position.
Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance, or ability to receive an interim clearance within 90 days.
Experience with NAVAIR aircraft or weapon systems.
