A Material Coordinator is a key employee within the KBR Logistics Retail Supply section at APS-3. The Material Coordinator must be proficient with software systems utilized at APS-3 such as AWRDS, LMP, GCSS-Army and Excel.

Inventory Management- Performs inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment. Items managed are of low unit or annual demand value, processing serviceable and unserviceable turn-in’s, involve short procurement lead time, are obtained from standard or other readily available sources of supply, and reflect relatively stable patterns of demand. Determines, forecasts, distributes material. Obtains procurement authorization.

Material Coordination- Performs material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Duties are performed on the basis of practical experience in processing and expediting supply transactions related to the particular organizations serviced.

Cataloging- Writes item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels. Applies requirements selecting the appropriate description pattern. Reviews existing stock catalogs, manufacturers’ catalogs, drawings, or other resource materials, for the purpose of matching characteristics to identify duplicate items already catalogued. Provides guidance and training to lower level supply personnel, e.g., Warehouse Specialist, Stock Clerk, Shipping Receiving Clerk and provides assistance to the Supply Technician and Supervisor. Primary work environment is an indoor office, however significant time is spent in the warehouse. Normal work week is 40 hours (10 hour days, Mon-Thr).

Performs all other duties as assigned. HS and a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

Primary work environment is outside with some time spent indoors for reporting or gathering information. Normal workweek is 40 hours, 10-hour days, Monday thru Thursday.

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Currently have or able to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be worldwide deployable
  • Ability to walk and stand regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in the heat and cold
  • Ability to work overtime as required by production schedule
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access.
  • The confidence to provide guidance to groups of people
  • Significant supply work experience to include inventory tracking, storage management, and supply transactions; ideally 2+ years
  • Ability to problem solve, interpret inventory reports, correct document errors, and apply attention to detail to ensure consistently accurate transactions and records
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of AWRDS or GCSS-Army is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Army class of supply system and National Stock numbers (NSS/NIIN) is a plus THIS ROLE IS LOCATED IN Goose Creek, SC.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but not limited to Level III plus/IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts and pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests/belts, sound suppression devices, etc.

Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.

Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.
