The job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Has well established client relationships within the San Diego and surrounding area within the Surface Transportation Industry, specific to public sector clients.

  • Grows market share and footprint of the Surface Transportation business with a focus on Highway and Bridge design.

  • Develops and maintains exceptional customer relations.

  • Regularly attends client sponsored events serving as an ambassador for AECOM.

  • Develops marketing plans and strategies, anticipates opportunities, and identifies market trends.

  • Positions and maps AECOM capabilities to customer business objectives and Surface Transportation initiatives.

  • Leads proposal preparation and presentations clients for potential large and complex projects.

  • Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the Transportation business line.

  • Works with Division Manager to achieve strategic business growth targets.

  • Identifies, pursues, and wins profitable Surface Transportation projects.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with other leaders within the West Coast South Department.

  • Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit process.

  • Negotiates favorable contract terms and conditions, manages achievement of cost of sales, gross margin, backlog, and other related financial and business goals.

  • Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.

  • Drives the growth, strategy, and sale of AECOM’s services for the Surface Transportation market within San Diego and surrounding area.

  • Drives project performance and is responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projects

  • Manages the San Diego group's workload balance to optimize the utilization of staff.

  • Collaborates with peers/leaders in the West Coast South department to leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction and implement best practices.

  • Communicates project risks-opportunities to Surface Transportation Management

  • Builds high performance, collaborative teams who demonstrate a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, and strong employee engagement.

  • Recognizes and unleashes the potential of others by providing the needed environment, resources, coaching, experiences, and other support, champions an innovative and collaborative culture.

  • Assists with reporting functions during the month

  • Supports and Mentors PM's.

  • Key Performance Indicators: Sales, NSR, Wins, bookings, book-to-burn, backlog growth, SNB conversion, gross margin, market share, BD ROI, client/account NSR, client satisfaction, industry leadership.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Transportation Industry with a focus on Highway and Bridge design.

  • California PE (Professional Engineer)

  • Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for the San Diego Surface Transportation department.

  • Has established client relationships relative to Highway and Bridge design in Southern California.

  • Leverages client relationships within the San Diego and surrounding area, to identify and capture Highway and Bridge market share to grow the Surface Transportation business.

  • Identifies resources necessary to meet the goals of the Surface Transportation Division.

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.

  • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objective.
