Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with a team of Project Managers, Water Resources Engineers and GIS specialists in support of floodplain modeling and mapping studies, stormwater management analyses, drainage master-planning, roadway drainage and bridge hydraulics analyses, and other water resources projects.

  • Provides technical mentorship and leadership to younger engineers.

  • Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-SWMM, Infoworks ICM, Geopak Drainage, and other similar software.

  • Leads the production of project reports including engineering calculations, research, planning and technical engineering reports

  • Efficiently works with ArcGIS and/or MicroStation/AutoCAD in support of H&H modeling and drainage design efforts.

  • Works collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Professional Engineering License (PE)

  • Solid technical background in H&H modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with guideline and regulations of organizations such as HCFCD, TxDOT, USACE, FEMA, City of Houston, and Harris County

  • Positive can-do attitude and enthusiasm about the technical aspects of water resources engineering

  • Master’s degree is a plus

  • Certified Floodplain Management certification is a plus
