Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Works with a team of Project Managers, Water Resources Engineers and GIS specialists in support of floodplain modeling and mapping studies, stormwater management analyses, drainage master-planning, roadway drainage and bridge hydraulics analyses, and other water resources projects.
Provides technical mentorship and leadership to younger engineers.
Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-SWMM, Infoworks ICM, Geopak Drainage, and other similar software.
Leads the production of project reports including engineering calculations, research, planning and technical engineering reports
Efficiently works with ArcGIS and/or MicroStation/AutoCAD in support of H&H modeling and drainage design efforts.
Works collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
Bachelor's degree with + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineering License (PE)
Solid technical background in H&H modeling
Experience with guideline and regulations of organizations such as HCFCD, TxDOT, USACE, FEMA, City of Houston, and Harris County
Positive can-do attitude and enthusiasm about the technical aspects of water resources engineering
Master’s degree is a plus
Certified Floodplain Management certification is a plus
