SAIC seeks a Technical Writer to support development, review, and delivery of intelligence products for an Intelligence Community (IC) agency operating in the area of Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and agency leadership to create digital and printed content that effectively conveys agency requirements to mission partners, informs IC policy and standards, and facilitates effective communication with stakeholders in the Department of Defense (DoD), Congress, the White House, and Industry.
The qualified candidate must be comfortable working closely with engineers of all levels in order to review and interpret the results of technical studies, whitepapers, and proposals. The candidate must also be comfortable working with senior leadership and other stakeholders in order to understand mission requirements and objects. In effect, the technical writer will serve as a bridge between engineers, management, and stakeholders, formulating and translating engineering and technical documents into cohesive arguments and presentations for IC leadership and other stakeholders.
Consolidate technical inputs from engineers and strategic objectives from agency leadership in order to craft position papers, proposals, and briefings for publication to the IC and its stakeholders and partners.
Communicate complex issues clearly in a concise and organized manner, both verbally and non-verbally
Work with government authors to revise pre-published products in order to improve narrative organization, resolve internal inconsistencies, and ensure positions are well supported with facts and logical conclusions
Assist agency leadership with the development of compelling arguments and positions to secure funding, resources, and support from stakeholders and partners
Develop finished documents and presentations with proper grammar that adhere to agency style guides and publication standards
Ensure language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields
Conduct structured research in order to craft compelling positions from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, and/or technically advanced
Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, in particular MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must hold a TS//SCI clearance, and be comfortable reviewing and working with classified information
Must be comfortable interacting with engineers, management, and end-users of varying experience levels
Must have experience developing papers, briefings, and/or technical documentation within the Intelligence Community and/or DoD
