Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
10+ years of bridge design experience overall
Texas PE, or can acquire certification within 90 days of hire preferred
Knowledge of TxDOT Bridge Design Manual (LRFD) & TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual preferred
Experience with MicroStation, Bridge Geometry System (BGS), PGSuper, STAAD-Pro (or similar)
Bentley LEAP Bridge Concrete, spColumn, LPile, MDX experience preferred
Bridge Task Lead experience on TxDOT projects preferred
Must have an interest in the design of complex transportation structures
Experience working with large design teams in a fast-paced environment
Experience in mentoring staff to develop professional skills and expertise
Capable of performing advanced engineering tasks without guidance preferred
Advanced knowledge of bridge structural systems preferred
Experience developing and monitoring design schedules preferred
Good verbal and written communication skills preferred
