Job Summary

AECOM is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Group. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work in any office located in the southeast United States, preferably the Raleigh, NC office. This role will assist clients from many different sectors in complying with multiple environmental regulatory programs, with an immediate need for EPCRA, RCRA, Sustainability, SPCC, SWPPP, and IDS experience/support or other related environmental experience.

Current clients include numerous DoD facilities, municipalities, power companies, data centers, and others. Staff are supported in training, continuing education, and development of technical knowledge and skills to continue your professional growth. AECOM supports a flexible work schedule as projects can accommodate. Senior staff and your peers are committed to your success on this dynamic and collaborative team.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Efforts such as site visits, data collection and analysis, sampling, development of technical memoranda and reports, preparation of environmental reporting forms are common responsibilities

  • Specific programs include SPCC Plan development, sampling and monitoring, Phase Is, EPCRA compliance, RCRA support, storm water, community outreach, training, auditing

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education

  • Relevant experience would include one or more of the following: site visits, data collection and analysis, sampling, development of technical memoranda and reports, preparation of environmental reporting

  • Regional travel in the southeast likely, with national travel possible and project dependent.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree is preferred

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER is a plus
