Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Architect to join our team in our Orlando, FL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Chambersburg, PA locations. May consider remote candidates.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for network design and data flow. Oversees and participates in implementation of network design. Updates documentation to reflect changes as necessary. Identifies and isolates network issues and suggests optimizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with a dynamic team comprised of Network, Software and Systems Engineers.
  • Coordinating with the Architecture and Engineering teams conduct installations of hardware and software.
  • Interfacing with vendors to address problem escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of major computer network initiatives.
  • Conducting and overseeing maintenance activities including DoD STIG and patching.
  • Utilizing monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.
  • Researching, testing, and evaluating cost benefits of emerging technologies to determine applicability to customer requirements.
  • Analyzing of network performance and locating bottle necks in physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments.
  • Executing contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree (in IT or Computer Science, or related technical field), or 8 years of related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge with network architecture and design disciplines and operational support.
  • Cloud and Container Networking experience.
  • Extensive hands-on implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting knowledge and capabilities for all platform levels from physical to Virtual networking.
  • Experience performing a variety of engineering and operation related assignments associated with SAN and Storage operations, and virtualization software.
  • Experience with implementation, configuration and troubleshooting Big-IP F5 Virtual Edition LTM/ASM/APM.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Virtual switching and routing
  • Container Network Mesh such as Istio
  • Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • Proficiency and knowledge with the following technologies:
  • Palo Alto Networks

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Reaching, Bending, Speaking, Crouching, Standing, Talking, Kneeling, Lifting, Working with computers/certs, Working with data, Ability to handle stress & work under pressure, oral & written communication skills, ability to use MS office, ability to use a PC, Interpersonal & people skills, multi-tasking ability
