SAIC’s Network Administrator will provide network, software, and system support. The Network Administrator will monitor computer networks and systems and respond to hardware and software issues utilizing various tools along the way. The Network Administrator will document any findings and coordinate with engineers as needed.
Must have active/current TS/SCI with polygraph
Three (3) or more years of experience in help desk support or administration
Working with personal computers and network/telecommunications architecture and equipment
Working knowledge of personal computers and personal computer software application packages and development products
Performing troubleshooting on both software and hardware issues and coordinating repairs
Reading and interpreting technical manuals
Writing and maintaining records and writing reports
Knowledge of communications protocols and standards
Comfortable working with non-technical customers to help solve technical problems
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Note that education can be substituted in lieu of relevant experience
Knowledge in Network Administration, focusing on operational/mission-specific networks
Managing and troubleshooting mixed Cisco and Juniper network environment using VPN technologies, including IPSEC and OpenVPN
Utilizing bridging and switching concepts and LAN technologies
Using OSI model, particularly Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as VLAN’s, port security, 802.1Q, IP subnets, IP routing, VRF and BGP.
Maintaining Access Control Lists and zone based firewalls
