Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Plumber Tradesman to join our team to support their domestic construction project in Las Cruces, New Mexico. If you don't reside in New Mexico, we also provide air travel to/from site, lodging, and meals & incidentals.

You enjoy using your hands to fix and install mechanical and plumbing assemblies, and your passion for the field in evident by your additional vocational/technical training. With your strong work ethic, you are the kind of dependable teammate that we are looking for.


Performing all tasks and assignments in a safe and effective manner.
Perform layout of construction requirements utilizing drawings and specifications.
Perform selective demolition at the project site and removal of refuse from the area.
Installation of mechanical and plumbing assemblies to include ductwork, hangers, seismic support systems, threaded piping, insulation and miscellaneous assemblies in support of the project requirements.
Erection of scaffolding and platforms, as required, to support the project requirements.
Cleanup of the work areas and maintaining the work areas free of clutter and debris.
Perform material handling in support of the architectural requirements, as well as the overall project requirements.
Support multi-discipline needs in support of the project requirements.
Repairs bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water softeners.
Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Installs, modifies and repairs utility, supply, and disposal systems, and equipment, such as water; mains, oil and gas distribution systems, air compression equipment, water closets, as well as all type of fire protection equipment.

Minimum Requirements

    High School Diploma or equivalent
    At least 3 years of skilled experience in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of Plumbing systems, and related equipment principles, including mechanical equipment
    Working knowledge of the plumbing trade including the installation, repair and maintenance of hot and cold-water lines, sewer pipe, soil pipe, traps and appliances such as water closets, lavatories, urinals, showers and tubs
    Ability to follow blueprints, diagrams and engineering specifications
    Must be able and willing to perform physical activities, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, moving and lifting heavy objects, etc.
    Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
    Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility AND polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

    Previous overseas experience
    Experience in multiple trade skills - (i.e. Electrical trade / Carpentry)
    Masters Certification in Mechanical Trade
