ManTech is seeking a Data Storage or SAN Architect for a potential project with the Food and Drug Administration’s Center located in Rockville, Maryland.

This position will support Data Center operations and cloud-modernization efforts, and is focused on helping the technical team understand the needs of FDA’s internal “customers” – meaning the FDA Centers, Offices, and Divisions with unique technology support needs, modernization requirements, and hosting requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as lead storage administrator in the design, implementation and management of the storage environment.
  • Responsible for configuring storage area network architecture.
  • Determines how SAN is logically created, which components are used, data storage and retrieval frameworks, device/host inter-connectivity and other parameters/components essential for a SAN.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 8 or more years of relevant experience in storage administrator, design, implementation, management, storage environment.
  • Cisco Data Center Certification
  • SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) Storage Networking Engineer Certification
  • Specific Vendor Storage Admin Certs (Dell EMC, Net App, Pure)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Microsoft Technology Certifications (Operating Systems)
  • VMware Certifications
  • Linux Certifications

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 2 (moderate risk public trust) background investigation.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time – and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations or facilitating meetings.
