Digital Engineering Coordinator

We are currently looking for an experienced Digital Engineering Coordinator to join our KBR South Australia office to work within our rapidly expanding Digital Engineering team across multiple Digital Delivered projects.

The successful applicant will commence working for KBR on the Future Submarine Programme in Adelaide and continue to endeavor there career across a magnitude of large-scale projects within the Building Services, Defense, Road Infrastructure and Rail Projects around Australia.

KBR is the lead design consultant for the Future Submarine Programme in Adelaide. This global-scale, multi-billion dollar development 30 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD involves over 8 years of continuous work during which our new Engineering and Digital Engineering design leaders will emerge.

KBR’s digital agenda is a key priority; with initiatives in place for this to transform the way KBR, our partners and our clients’ present information and make informed decisions. At a project level, the design team will be using the latest BIM, digital engineering and virtual reality technology as they design and document over 20 new buildings and upgrade multiple existing facilities to meet the world class specifications for Future Submarine Program.

The position will be a part of the project delivery team at the design level and will be directly involved in coordinating the quality and on-time delivery of the design model and virtual design review process we have in place for the project. This provides you with the opportunity to extend both your coordination and technical skills as part of a long term program of works.

Key Responsibilities

  • 3D Model Development and Coordination
  • Federate 3D building models on schedule whilst maintaining high quality deliverables across the project(s) design team
  • Provide subject matter expert support across multiple infrastructure projects to implement BIM design processes and the delivery of BIM compliant solutions
  • Assisting with the implementation of digital engineering technical initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced modellers
  • Facilitate and implement relevant technical ISO standards

Key Skills


  • Associate Diploma / Diploma in Engineering or relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Experience in 3D modelling and coordination packages (Revit, Revizto, Navisworks, etc)
  • Ability to manage diverse projects to ensure projects are delivered with excellence
  • Implementation and management of clash detection
  • Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, architecture and specialty disciplines


  • An infrastructure background (not just buildings) as you will be involved in KBR’s broad range of projects
  • Previous experience linking Design Models and Construction schedules (produced in Primavera P6) using Autodesk Navisworks (4D)
  • Use of supporting digital engineering technologies including; 3D Point Cloud / Laser Scanning, Virtual Reality programming, Visualisations etc.
