Job Summary

As a Technical Cadet you will work as part of a team to assist with delivery of engineering design projects. This role is a developmental opportunity to grow your skills-base and acquire a more specialised understanding of digital engineering concepts and processes to deliver successful projects using BIM, 3D design, construction simulation, material management and sustainable facilities management.

In the role of Technical Cadet you will be afforded the opportunity be supported through the completion a relevant Advanced Diploma while gaining on the job development and experience including:

  • Gaining an understanding of business line strategies and plans,

  • Producing appropriate 2D and 3D CAD models, documentation and other technical work tasks,

  • Developing excellent drawing and checking skills;

  • Awareness of projects time and budget targets;

  • Liaison with designers and project team engineers to ensure timely delivery of project outputs;

Minimum Requirements

  • Interest in gaining design knowledge through on the job experience

  • Interest in 3D modelling and 2D drawing extraction

  • Basic proficiency in using AutoCAD

  • Sound skills to use all Microsoft Office packages

  • Eager to learn through on the job experience and TAFE study.

  • Enthusiastic and driven.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High achievement levels in Maths and Science subjects;

  • Year 12 education or equivalent

  • Enrolled or eligible to enrol in an Advanced Diploma in Civil /Structural Engineering
