Job Summary

Our Acoustics practice is leading the way on some of the largest and most exciting infrastructure and building projects in New Zealand, and we are seeking Acoustic Consultants to contribute to the successful delivery of these projects. Positions open at all levels: professionals, senior consultants, principal and associate director.

There are more than 150 acousticians at AECOM. They are engineers, designers, musicians and physicists. Our team works on some of the largest infrastructure and building projects in New Zealand and Australia. Projects are varied, ranging from transport infrastructure and offshore windfarms, social noise studies to sports facilities, hospitals, arts galleries and the performing arts. We continuously collaborate with our acoustic colleagues in Australia, Hong Kong, UK and the Americas.

You will be joining a close-knit group of acousticians who work collaboratively to share skills and deliver projects of significance across markets such as transportation, healthcare, education, commercial and aviation. Our group enjoys time for developing and employing innovative tools, participate to standard developments and get involved with industry partners. You will have the opportunity to work across all areas of acoustics, work alongside our planners, project managers and ESD experts providing you with scope to sharpen knowledge, broaden your expertise and shape the direction in which acoustics in New Zealand is going.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong writing and communication skills;

  • Experience in performing noise measurements;

  • Experience in application of standards (international and local);

  • Experience in modelling techniques and tools (SoundPLAN, CadnaA, GIS) is an advantage;

  • Experience or specialist capabilities in other related fields, such as vibration, road noise, planning, district plans, underwater acoustics or even architectural acoustics, will be viewed favourably.

  • Minimum of 2 years acoustic consulting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering or science degree in a relevant discipline
