Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and design architectural teams and projects requiring architectural input.

  • Supervise, prepare and develop where required, drawings, models, animations, images and other documents relating to architectural design.

  • Good skills in AutoCAD, REVIT, rendering packages, ADOBE Photoshop/CS or CorelDRAW, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Liaise/coordinate the internal design teams under his/her direction and other departments to ensure a coordinated architectural design;

  • Take responsibility and manage where required by the Department Manager for specific areas of the design and project development;

  • Liaise, where appropriate, with clients, members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies;

  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with AECOM procedures and standards;

  • Contribute, or assist as otherwise required within the department.

KPA’s:

  • Manage and design the architectural design teams and projects with architectural design components;

  • Prepare, develop, present and supervise where required, drawings, models, presentations, images, animations and other documents relating to architectural design;

  • Supervise the internal design team under his/her direction and other departments to ensure a coordinated architectural design;

  • Take responsibility where required by the Department Manager for specific areas of the design, inspection and detailing;

  • Assist with, and where required, project manager or oversee implementation of construction projects;

  • Liaise, where appropriate, with clients, members of the external design team and other associated organisations, suppliers or companies;

  • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with AECOM procedures and standards;

  • Guide the internal teams though AECOM’s performance and project management systems.

  • Implement and manage the development of junior staff and specialist staff within the department.

  • Thorough knowledge of SANS 10400, National building regulations, SANS 204 and other standards pertaining to architectural design;

  • Thorough knowledge of different forms of contract and procurement methods. Be able to administer and manage building contracts.

  • Must be registered with the SA Council for the Architectural Professions as an Professional Architect;

  • Must be a member of the SA Institute of Architects and;

  • Contribute, assist and support the region architectural leader, or as otherwise required within the department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience.

  • One position in Cape Town and one position in Centurion

  • Must have REVIT experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture (Professional),

  • Pr. Arch
